This is an opportunity to apply for a data science role within the Trust’s Prevention and Population Health Unit.

The Unit collaborates with other key partners in the Midlands, including Wolverhampton City Council and other members of the One the West Midlands place-based partnership, with the goal of assisting health and social care services in better identifying the needs of residents and shifting the emphasis from treatment to prevention and early intervention.

Main responsibilities of the job

Your primary responsibility will be to apply data science techniques to a variety of health-related data sets in order to provide insights into the health of the Wolverhampton community.

Individuals interested in and experienced with R/R Studio, Python, MS Excel, SQL, PowerBL, machine learning, statistical analysis, and complicated data reporting are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

  1. To give statistical insights and analyses into Wolverhampton’s population health.
  2. Be able to convey difficult facts to a wide range of audiences in order to assist decision makers.
  3. Proactively learn new data science methodologies and ideas to ensure your ability to work on a variety of projects; you will be fully supported to learn throughout your tenure with the team.
  4. Implement new and evolving policies within your area of responsibility, taking into account Trust, Local, and National guidelines.
  5. Analyze massive amounts of data to identify trends and patterns.
  6. Correlate the analysis with data from various external sources (e.g., demographics, social deprivation, census).
  7. Create automated systems for managing critical population health datasets on a continual basis.
  8. To evaluate very complicated data collected from a number of sources using robust statistical and analytical tools as well as software.
  9. To interrogate data, create complicated SQL queries.
  10. Present information using data visualization techniques.
  11. Required to plan and organise analysis workload, including continuing updates to an analysis workplan. Adjustments are required owing to variable workload, with a focus on unpredictable and competing needs.
  12. Use statistical and mathematical modeling tools like logistic regression and simulation to help with your study.
  13. Regularly contribute to research papers, research proposals, and policies.
  14. Perform in a workplace that requires high concentration throughout the day on a wide range of challenging challenges.
  15. Conducts data quality audits on a regular basis to ensure that outputs remain high-quality.
  16. This kind of job requires frequent use of a VDU for periods of more than four hours.
  17. Maintain current compliance with trust-mandated training.

Certification Degree

Work Experience.

  1. experience utilizing computer languages for data science
  2. Experience in processing and manipulating data using database languages
  3. Advanced MS Excel data analysis skills
  4. Working knowledge of MS office 365.
  5. Quick comprehension of a wide range of difficult facts
  6. The ability to analyze complex information and situations and produce a range of options.
