Victor Boniface has recently been linked with Premier League club Chelsea, but he has revealed he has not been a fan of the English top-flight league.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker told SportyTV that the Bundesliga and La Liga have always been his favourite leagues in Europe.
“No. I admit I did an interview before and I’m not saying this just because I’m on this level,” he said.
“I’ve been saying this even before I had an international passport, even before I dreamt of coming to Europe, I don’t really like the Premier League.
“I said this before. I prefer Spanish football or German football.”
However, Victor Boniface said he will not reject a transfer to a “great” Premier League club.
“I’m not saying if a great team (from the Premier League) comes for me, I won’t go. But if you ask me to pick two countries, I really want to live and play in, it will be Germany and Spain,” he said.
