itel A80 is a new budget phone from itel positioned to replace the itel A70. Compared to the A70, it features a more elegant punch-hole display, better rear cameras, and a software refresh. itel A80 sports a 6.7-inch touchscreen, up to 50MP rear camera, a 5000 mAh battery, and Android 14 with itel OS 14.
itel A80 comes in an all-plastic design available in Sandstone Black, Glacier White, and Wave Blue. The sides are flat with rounded corners. The back is also flat with a slightly elevated camera module. There are two camera rings on the back with the top ring housing the 50-megapixel camera and the lower ring the auxilliary lens. Note that the model with 3GB RAM offers a less impressive 13-megapixel camera instead. A ring-style LED flash is provided on the camera module. The camera is an improvement to the A70 (if you pick the model with 4GB RAM) but is still within the budget smartphone territory in terms of quality. Photos taken on the Android phone are good for the price, especially with the super HDR feature. The camera records full HD videos at 30 fps. If you are big on camera you should buy the model with 4GB RAM because this is the model that comes with the 50MP rear camera, the 3GB model comes with a 13MP rear camera instead. On the right side, you will see the volume rocker and the power button that also doubles as the fingerprint scanner. The left side is where you will find the SIM tray. The tray has two Nano-SIM slots and a dedicated memory card slot that can support up to 2TB microSD card. itel A80 features a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and 120Hz refresh rate. The display offers 500 nits maximum brightness giving it a decent outdoor view. Overall, the display is decent for watching movies, browsing the web, and playing mobile games. For taking selfies, an 8-megapixel camera is situated on the punch-hole. In the box, you will find the itel A80, a charging brick, an earphone, a USB Type C cable, a SIM ejector pin, and a phone case. On the chipset front, the itel A80 retains the same chipset as the A70. The UNISOC T603 chipset is also found in the itel A50, the itel A50C, and a host of other cheap Android phones. The octa-core chipset is paired with a 3GB or 4GB RAM. As we pointed out earlier, the model with 4GB RAM has a better camera. So, keep that in mind when making your purchase. For both models, you can upgrade the total RAM capacity to up to 8GB using the Memory Fusion feature. 128GB of built-in storage is provided with support for up to 2TB memory card. This itel phone is loaded with Android 14 with itel OS 14 out of the box. The software experience is smooth. The Dynamic Bar around the front camera offers a new way to access notifications. itel A80 supports 4G LTE and Wi-Fi for fast internet access. It has a 5000 mAh battery with a 10W charging capacity which takes about 3 hours to fully recharge the battery. The itel A50 price in Nigeria starts at ₦117,900 for the model with 4GB RAM. The model with 3GB RAM will obviously be cheaper. It is available on Jumia Nigeria and several other local stores. Here are a few specs of the itel A80:itel A80 Key Specs and Features
