The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named Justin Madugu as the interim head coach of the Super Falcons, the country’s senior women’s football team. Madugu will lead the team temporarily until a permanent head coach is appointed.
This decision was made based on a recommendation from the NFF’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
Earlier this month, former Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum resigned, citing personal reasons, specifically his wife’s health, for stepping down. Waldrum expressed that his departure came at an opportune time, allowing sufficient time for his replacement to be selected before the team’s next engagement.
Madugu, who previously served as one of Waldrum’s assistants, will now work alongside other members of the technical staff as they prepare for the team’s next major challenge: the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled to take place in Morocco next summer.
