Why I left my pregnant wife for BBNaija – Tjay

Tjay, a former contestant from Big Brother Naija season nine, has shared why he chose to leave his pregnant wife at home to compete on the reality show.

Tjay, a 33-year-old doctor, was evicted alongside fellow contestants Handi and Shaun.

During his fourth week in the house, he and his wife welcomed twin boys.

In a press interview, Tjay admitted that his decision to join the show was tough for both him and his wife.

He explained, “It was difficult for both of us. I thought the show would air after delivery, but the pregnancy timeline changed.”

Despite her concerns, after a long discussion, his wife gave him the green light to participate. Tjay shared:

“She said, ‘okay, fine, there is no point really going backwards now’, although it was very difficult for her. She just preferred me to focus on my dream. She also said she was going to sort things out.”

Tjay also mentioned that his wife received a lot of support from friends, family, and fans while he was on the show, adding:

“But I mean she had a lot of help, I would not lie, she had lots of help.

“A lot of fans reached out, my friends supported us, family was also there. So she was not in any way unsupported or lonely. Like I said, I always like to praise women who support their men in their dreams, it is what my wife did and it is an amazing show of strength.”
