“You’ve stood out for refusing to be intimidated” – Secondus hails Fubara, mocks Wike

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has praised Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his unwavering stance in the face of political pressure.

In what appeared to be a subtle jab at former Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike, Secondus commended Fubara for his refusal to be intimidated during the recent Local Government elections in the state.

In a statement released by his media adviser, Ike Abonyi, on Wednesday, Secondus lauded Fubara’s leadership, crediting him for upholding democratic principles despite efforts to undermine his authority.

“You’ve stood out for refusing to be intimidated,” Secondus stated.

While not directly naming Wike, Secondus’ comments seemed aimed at the former governor, who has been at odds with Fubara since leaving office.

The tension between the two became more pronounced in recent months, with Fubara asserting his authority and distancing himself from Wike’s influence.

Secondus further stated:”Governor Fubara has demonstrated true leadership by standing firm for democracy. His refusal to bow to intimidation is a testament to his commitment to his people and their future.”

The former PDP chairman also used the opportunity to urge President Bola Tinubu to work closely with Governor Fubara to protect the critical national assets located in Rivers State.

He stressed the importance of collaboration between the federal government and Rivers State, given its strategic economic significance.

Secondus concluded by congratulating the people of Rivers State for their massive turnout during the elections and reaffirming his support for Governor Fubara’s leadership.
