'Nobody can defend against me and Icardi' — Osimhen sends strong message to Mourinho, other rivals

Victor Osimhen has sent out a strong warning to Galatasaray’s rivals, declaring his team unplayable when he is paired with Mauro Icardi. 

Icardi led the Cim-Bom to the Super Lig title last season, and with Osimhen's impending arrival, there were reports that Okan Buruk had no intentions of playing either or, as he planned on pairing both players in a front two.

Icardi's injury at the start of the season and Osimhen's during the season have prevented Okan Buruk from deploying the pair as much as he would have liked, but when they played together, they looked devastating. 

What Osimhen said 

The pair lined up side by side in the Europa League clash against Elsborg and proved too much to deal with for the opposition defence as they beat the Swedish side 4-3. 

Osimhen praised their rivals on the day for giving them a tough time, but he was even more effusive of his partnership with Icardi, which he believes is unstoppable. 

“We knew it would be difficult. The opponent was good in defence. We are happy that we won, though we had some scary moments towards the end,” The Nigerian said, per Fanatik.

“I couldn’t score, but what matters is that the team got the win. I also want to congratulate the opponent—they fought well.

Speaking on the strike partnership with Icardi, Osimhen said, “When we play together, no one can stand against us. It’s exciting to play with Icardi.”

“He almost gave me an assist, and he’s a great player. Playing with him is extraordinary, and I think no defence will be able to stop us when we’re on the pitch together.”
