'They said we only beat small teams' — Yamal fires back at 'haters' after destroying Real Madrid

Lamine Yamal had a message for Barcelona's detractors following the 4-0 victory over Real Madrid.

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has fired back at their detractors after an incredible footballing week, culminating in the 4-0 demolition of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Contrary to the eventual scoreline, Los Blancos had the better start, with Jude Bellingham drawing an incredible save from Inaki Pena. 

Neither team could break the deadlock in the first half, and the second was all Barcelona. Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 54th minute, placing the ball past Lunin after an incisive pass from Marc Casado. 

Two minutes later, the Polish striker doubled the Blaugrana's lead with a solid header after a pinpoint cross from Alejandro Balde. 

Barcelona players are all smiles after a brilliant night.

Yamal made it three in the 77th minute to give some safety to the scoreline. Raphinha closed off the scoring in the 84th minute, chipping Lunin.

Barcelona are the top-scoring side in Europe this season, as they put goals past teams with reckless abandon. 

Despite the dominant performances, some dissenting voices were raised about the level of opposition. However, Flicks' men banished all doubts this week when they put four goals pass Bayern Munich and now Real Madrid.

Speaking after the game, Yamal ensured to address their detractors, saying, “When we were winning in LaLiga, it was said that we were only beating mid-table teams. Now this week, we've beaten Bayern and Madrid, scoring four goals against them.
