In what promises to be a remarkable celebration of industry excellence, four icons in the marketing, media, and communications sectors are set to be inducted into the prestigious Brandcom Awards Hall of Fame at the 2024 Brandcom Awards.

The honourees—Lolu Akinwunmi, Group CEO of Prima Garnet Africa; Nkechi Ali-Balogun, Principal Consultant of NECCI Consulting; Remi Ogunpitan, Executive Consultant at IBST Media; and Tajudeen Adepetu, Group Managing Director/CEO of Group8 Limited—will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the media and Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) industry in Nigeria and Africa at large.

Scheduled to take place at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, the induction of the four icons will be the highlight of the Brandcom Awards that will set the stage for the recognition of leading brands, agencies, and professionals who have shaped the marketing and communications landscape. The Hall of Fame is regarded as the grandprix of the night, reserved for those whose work has left an indelible mark on the industry, contributing to its growth, innovation, and global reputation.

Lolu Akinwunmi, a distinguished figure in the world of advertising, will be celebrated for his visionary leadership at Prima Garnet Africa, one of Nigeria’s leading advertising and marketing communication groups. With a career that began in 1982 at Lintas and spanned roles at Promoserve Grey, Akinwunmi’s bold decision in 1992 to found Prima Garnet remains a defining moment for Nigerian advertising, and for creative excellence and client engagement.

Nkechi Ali-Balogun, a PR trailblazer with decades of industry experience, will also join the Hall of Fame for her unmatched contributions to public relations and communications in Nigeria. As the Principal Consultant at NECCI Consulting, she has developed a reputation for nurturing talent and building influential networks across both the private and public sectors. Her strategic foresight has helped shape PR practices in the country, and her leadership roles within the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), being a former Council Member and former Chairman of the flagship Lagos Chapter of the NIPR show her influence and dedication to the industry’s development.

Remi Ogunpitan’s work as an Executive Consultant for IBST Media, one of Nigeria’s leading media and content production companies, has been instrumental in revolutionizing the local broadcasting scene. Ogunpitan’s expertise spans decades, with a focus on delivering high-quality content that resonates with both Nigerian and global audiences. His storytelling capabilities have set benchmarks for excellence in the industry, making him a deserving recipient of this year’s honour.

Tajudeen Adepetu is a prolific figure in the television and digital media ecosystem. As the Group Managing Director and CEO of Group8 Limited, Adepetu has been at the forefront of driving content creation, broadcasting, and entertainment. His dynamic leadership has shaped Nigeria’s media landscape, with his ventures spanning from entertainment channels to digital platforms that cater to different audiences. His contributions continue to inspire a new generation of media entrepreneurs, making his inclusion in the Hall of Fame particularly significant.

The Brandcom Awards, powered by Brand Communicator, Nigeria’s foremost marketing and communications publication, celebrates the best in the industry by recognizing not just individuals but also the brands and agencies that push boundaries and set new standards. Last year’s inductees, including Jimi Awosika of Troyka Holdings, Wale Adenuga of Wale Adenuga Productions, and Bola Akingbade, former CMO of MTN Nigeria, further highlight the caliber of professionals recognized by the Hall of Fame.
