Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, on Wednesday morning, tendered an apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries for defaming him.

This followed her admittance to spreading falsehood against Suleman and causing him pain via social media.

Apostle Suleman, via his X handle, reacted to her apology saying, “You all stop calling my phone…., forgiveness is not memory loss!.. Status quo maintained!….”

The drama between Abubakar and Apostle Suleman started in 2022 when the actress became sick following her altercation with the clergyman.

The actress, for several months, accused the controversial cleric of failing in his promise to marry her. She alleged he afflicted her with an undisclosed life-threatening ailment that plagued her for years.

Apostle Suleman eventually sued Halima for N1bn for defamation, seeking compensation for the harm done to his reputation and ministry after several warnings in January 2023.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja, on Monday April 9, 2024, fined the actress N10m as damages for defaming the Omega Fire Ministries International senior pastor,

Halima’s apology came after the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), on October 18, 2024, suspended her indefinitely for being “behind all the slandering information of our members, associates and patrons, especially news of extramarital affairs linked with highly placed individuals in the society emanating from the industry.”
