Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader, has publicly expressed feelings of betrayal towards the Yoruba people
Despite the region’s support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections, Dokubo claims the Yorubas have failed to reciprocate this support.
In a recent video statement, Dokubo apologized to former Rivers State Governor Melford Okilo and other regional leaders for previously questioning their decision to collaborate with the North.
He now seeks to forge a strong alliance with northerners, citing the Yorubas as untrustworthy.
Dokubo emphasized that the Ijaws and Niger Deltans will prioritize their own interests, seeking partnerships that benefit their region.
He urged his people to recognize the perceived betrayal and unite against those who seek to harm them.
