Barcelona Will End Poor Run Against Bayern Munich – Flick

Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick has revealed that the team will give their best to end their poor run of form against Bayern Munich as they set to clash again in the Champions League.

The Blaugrana will be playing host to the Bundesliga giants at home on Wednesday, and they will be hoping to end their poor record against Vincent Kompany’s side.

Bayern Munich have beaten Barcelona in each of their last six meetings and the Catalans have failed to score in the last four of those.

Flick led Bayern Munich to a historic 8-2 win over Barcelona in the 2020 Champions League quarter-finals.

The former German coach said he is not bothered about the past, and he is more interested in beating Bayern Munich.

Flick said: “The past doesn’t matter, the present is what’s important.

“Whatever happened in the past we can’t change, we can only influence what happens tomorrow. Of course, we want to try and beat Bayern Munich.”

Barcelona last won the Champions League in 2015 and last reached the semifinals in 2019.

Flick won six titles with Bayern Munich in 2020 and has led Barcelona to an impressive start to the season, where they currently top the La Liga table.

He said: “Bayern are a team in good form with a lot of confidence, they’re a top, top team with great players.

“We want to test ourselves against the best – it’s a Champions League game against Bayern Munich, it’s going to be great.

“(I had) a great time there, with great memories, but I’m living a new chapter now at Barca.”

Flick alongside Lewandoski will be facing their former employers, and he was full of praise for the Polish striker, who has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season.

He said, “Robert is an absolute professional, working hard on his fitness — this body he has, it’s not this age.

“(Scoring) is his job and he is doing this great over years now, not only this year… this is a goal-getter, a striker who scores goals.”

Barcelona lost their first match in the newly expanded Champions League against Monaco 2-1 before beating Young Boys 5-0 in the second match.
