10 weeks ago, the Big Brother Naija season 9 show started with 14 pairs who were contenders for the coveted prize of N60m and a brand new car.

They came in filled with hope that the fans and viewers would love and keep them long enough to do that.

Unfortunately, with 6 pairs leaving first, the unpairing and 8 more solo evictions, 8 worthy finalists emerged. Anita, Nelly, Sooj, Ozee, Onyeka, Victoria, Wanni and KellyRae were lucky to make it to the finale week.

Here is a recap of everything that happened in the last week of BBNaija No Loose Guard

SUNDAY (AFTER EVICTIONS)

The Top 8 who were rattled by the triple eviction that saw Topher, Ocee and Kassia leave them, quickly adjusted to the fact that they were the last people standing. Their joy knew no bounds as  Anita, Nelly, Sooj, Wanni, and Onyeka danced happily to the beats.

On the other corner, Ozee took to comforting Victoria, who had just lost her best friend in the house while KellyRae moped around on his own.

MONDAY

Monday saw the housemates reliving their stay in the house from Week 1. Biggie later gathered them and played a series of emotional messages from their families, who showered them with congratulations and encouragement to keep pushing forward. Seeing their families and hearing the heartfelt messages brought a mix of happiness and tears to the housemates.

TUESDAY

The finalists got to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day in style. The festivities kicked off with upbeat cultural performances from cultural dancers from various Nigerian tribes.

This was followed by a soulful performance by the talented Praiz and the band, Alternate Sounds got the housemates to hit the dance floor. They were also treated to a spread of mouth-watering Nigerian dishes that included Abacha (African Salad), Ugba (African oil bean), native rice, grilled fish, Nkwobi (cuts from cow feet), and Asun (spicy roast goat) which the housemates devoured.

Afterwards, each housemate took to the stage to express their love for Nigeria, sharing heartfelt wishes for the country’s future. After their emotional speeches, they gathered around the beautifully decorated cake to celebrate the nation’s 64th Independence Day.

WEDNESDAY

The Top 8 housemates were treated to more nice surprises from Biggie. They got more food and drinks which they relished before spending their day lounging and telling stories about their journey on the show. The vibe in the house remained calm and positive as the finalists soaked up their last days in the house.

Later that evening the housemates got to compete in the highly anticipated Innoson Task which comes with a prize of a brand-new car from Nigerian automaker Innoson Motors.

It involved several tasks, including assembling a car-shaped puzzle and Wanni emerged as the winner after completing the puzzle in record time.

THURSDAY

The Top 8 had the last pool party of the season and was the event everyone had been waiting for. They were treated to a full catering service and a DJ. Anita, Nelly, Sooj, and Wanni brought extra energy to the party with their double outfit changes. Onyeka and Ozee had a sweet poolside moment when their lips met for a friendly peck.

After the party, Ozee and Onyeka found themselves discussing the love triangle between them and Victoria that had stirred up conversation in the house. They admitted that the triangle was dull although present and when Ozee tried to talk about their kiss from the pool, Onyeka quickly dismissed it, forcing him to backtrack and insist they hadn’t kissed after all.

FRIDAY

The housemates were treated to a relaxing day of pampering at the spa to unwind, rejuvenate, and recharge before the finale with massages and spa treatments.

Later that evening, the Top 8 had their final wager presentation that evening with each of them taking the stage to share their journey in the house and expressing gratitude to fellow housemates who made their time memorable. However, it wasn’t all smiles.

While sharing their experiences, the atmosphere shifted as Wanni, with tears in her eyes, apologised to Nelly for past comments she had made about her body. Onyeka also apologised to Victoria over a misunderstanding that had caused tension between them.

SATURDAY

The finalists were greeted in the morning with a mountain of breakfast fit for kings and queens, which they enjoyed.

They were then treated to a special afternoon luncheon dressed in bright colours, floral patterns, stylish hats, and scarves where they got to celebrate making it to the end and to reflect on their journey in the house.

They each had the opportunity to share heartfelt words of appreciation, marking this as a moment to remember.

Later that night, they reunited and got to party with the remaining 22 evicted housemates in the last Saturday Night Gbedu of the season.

SUNDAY

Sunday morning saw the housemates chilling and preparing for the big finale with the usual salon pampering session on their hair, makeup and nails.

They also had their final diary sessions with Biggie, where they shared their thoughts and feelings on everything from what they’ll do with the money if they win, what they’ll do when they’ve left the house, and who they think will step away with the ultimate title.

When the finale show started, evictions began. Sooj left first, then Anita followed closely before Ozee was evicted as well. Nelly quickly joined them and Victoria was the 5th to leave.

Onyeka was the 2nd runner up and that left Wanni and KellyRae as the last woman and man standing for the season. They both moved to the stage where they were greeted by Ebuka and the cheers of their fans and families.

Ebuka announced KellyRae as the champion and the crowd went wild. He jumped up and down the stage before running into his wife’s arms, lifting her up and turning her around in sheer jubilation.

He was crowned the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 9 No Loose Guard show and walked away with 60 Million Naira in cash, and a brand new Innoson car, among other prizes.

What a season! We sure can’t wait for the next season of the Big Brother Naija reality show.
