Controversial social media critic and influencer, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has responded to Femi Falana’s claim that his daughters were receiving death threats.

It could be recalled that on September 24, 2024, VeryDarkMan shared a voice call recording of popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, discussing his conversation with Falana’s son, Falz, while he was serving a six-month sentence at the Ikoyi prison.

In the contentious recording, Bobrisky mentioned that Falz asked for his help in securing a presidential pardon worth N10 million from his father, Femi Falana.

In reaction to the recording, Falz and his father, Femi Falana, threatened legal action against VeryDarkMan for making false statements.

Nonetheless, in a widely shared interview on Monday, October 7, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) claimed that his daughters’ safety was at risk after he decided to pursue legal action against VeryDarkMan.

Falana, who had previously denied any connection to Bobrisky, expressed deep concern over the entire situation.

He said, “The only disturbing area in this scenario is the threat to me and my daughter’s life. Some of these guys, who I believed were mentally derailed, have dared me that if I go to the court, they will burn down my office, and also send messages to one of my daughters that if your father goes to court, we shall kill you.”

Reacting, however, to the interview in a video on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan vehemently distanced himself from the alleged threats.

As he announced his willingness to collaborate to reveal the culprits behind the alleged threats, VeryDarkMan voiced worry that the evil characters might be trying to incite Falana to anger, aiming to control the circumstances for their benefit.

He said: “I want to say I’m not aware or have knowledge of anyone sending threats Uncle Femi Falana and his family. Secondly, I will never be part of anybody sending threatening messages to anyone in this country.

“What I would like to say is that I am willing to cooperate and work with Femi Falana to fish out whoever sent the message to him. Please, I don’t associate myself with things like that.”
