After returning from his ordeal in Libya with the Super Eagles, Victor Boniface scored in Bayer Leverkusen's win over Frankfurt

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface scored the winner for Bayer Leverkusen as the reigning champions beat Frankfurt 2-1.

Boniface, who was listed as one of the Nigerian players to watch this weekend, survived missing an early penalty to become Leverkusen's match-winner in the 72nd minute.

The Nigerian forward missed the chance to open the scoring for the home side early in the first half before Leverkusen fell behind after Omar Marmoush converted from the spot for Frankfurt.

German midfielder Robert Andrich equalised for Leverkusen before Boniface scored the winner mid-way through the second half.
