Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, held a crucial meeting with the state’s minimum wage implementation committee, where he directed the immediate payment of the new national minimum wage to civil servants within the month of October 2024.

The meeting took place at the council chamber of the Government House in Maiduguri.

In a related development, Governor Zulum approved the release of N3 billion to settle entitlements owed to the families of deceased civil servants in the state.

As part of the initiative, he made a symbolic cheque presentation to the Nigerian Union of Pensioners.

Furthermore, the Governor reaffirmed his commitment to clear the backlog of outstanding gratuities and announced plans for an upward review of monthly pension payments in Borno State.
