Chelsea began their Europa Conference League group-stage journey on a high note, defeating Gent 4-2 at Stamford Bridge
The Blues dominated early, with Renato Veiga and Pedro Neto scoring to establish a 2-0 lead. However, Gent’s Tsuyoshi Watanabe halved the deficit with a 49th-minute header.
Chelsea regained control, courtesy of goals from Christopher Nkunku and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, extending their lead to 4-1. Omri Gandelman scored a consolation goal for Gent in the 90th minute, but the outcome was already sealed.
Manager Enzo Maresca’s side earned three crucial points, setting a strong foundation for their Europa Conference League campaign.
