Chelsea midfielder, Enzo Fernandez is navigating a challenging period both on and off the pitch.

His wife, Valentina Cervantes, recently announced their separation, sharing that they will “always be family” and that they will support each other for their two children, who were born in 2020 and 2023.

“Enzo and I have decided to take some distance from each other today.”

“But we will always be family, and we will support each other in everything. Because there are two children involved who need a lot of love from us.”

“I know the person Enzo is and what an excellent father he is, as well as the heart he has. And that is enough for me. Please don’t try to create conflicts where there are none.”

Reports from Argentina suggest Fernandez requested for independence, citing a need to experience the life he “skipped by choosing family early on.”

Professionally, Fernandez has faced setbacks under Chelsea’s new coach Enzo Maresca.

Despite being a key player and captaining Chelsea early in the season, he recently lost his starting role to Romeo Lavia.

During Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle, Maresca showed visible frustration when Fernandez’s misplaced pass led to a scoring opportunity for the opposition.

Real Madrid Reportedly Interested in Fernandez, Potential Swap with Tchouameni

As Fernandez navigates limited playing time and Chelsea’s broader challenges, Real Madrid has emerged as a potential new destination.

Madrid is reportedly willing to offer Aurelien Tchouameni, valued at £85 million, in a deal for Fernandez.

Tchouameni, once seen as unsellable, has faced a dip in form and could be used in part-exchange for Fernandez, for whom Madrid is prepared to offer up to €100 million (£84.4 million).

While Chelsea is not actively looking to sell Fernandez, reports from Fichajes suggest the Argentine might be open to a “change of scenery” due to limited game time and doubts about the club’s progress.

Real Madrid is also reportedly considering Manchester City’s Rodri as a potential midfield target should Tchouameni leave the club.

Fernandez’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain amid these ongoing challenges. With over seven years remaining on his contract, any move would likely hinge on both Chelsea’s willingness to negotiate and Fernandez’s desire to remain in London.
