The Flying Eagles preparations to this month’s WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Togo have suffered a massive setback after star striker Charles Agada was injured in a test game.

Former Golden Eagles striker Agada had to be helped out of the pitch Saturday during a friendly against Legacy Academy of Abuja.

He suffered what looked like a serious a left ankle injury and it is now left to be seen whether he will be fit in time for the U20 AFCON qualifiers, which begin in Lome on October 17.

The powerfully-built centre-forward has received accolades for his all-action style as coach Aliyu Zubairu puts together a winning team for the U20 AFCON qualifying tournament.

Injury shut him out of the WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifiers in Ghana two years ago.

He then bounced back to feature at last year’s U17 AFCON in Algeria before he represented the country at the Africa Games in March in Ghana.
