Let me begin by saying, “Success doesn’t come to those who wait—it comes to those who crush every challenge that stands in their way.” The Ultimate Book reminds us in 1 Corinthians 9:24, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” Friends, “To truly win in life, you can’t just participate; you’ve got to crush it, giving your best effort at every step.”

Consider the story of Cosmas Maduka, the founder of Coscharis Group, one of Nigeria’s largest conglomerates. Cosmas Maduka’s rise to success is a powerful example of determination and crushing adversity. Born into a poor family, Cosmas lost his father at a young age and had to drop out of school to help his family survive. By the age of seven, he became an apprentice at a motor spare parts shop, earning almost nothing.

At 14, Cosmas was dismissed from his apprenticeship after a disagreement with his boss. Instead of letting the setback define him, Cosmas took the little savings he had and started selling motorcycle parts on his own. He was determined to crush the obstacles of poverty and lack of education. With persistence and a never-give-up attitude, Cosmas built Coscharis Motors from a small trading business into a billion-dollar conglomerate, which today includes Coscharis Motors, the sole distributor of BMW and other luxury car brands in Nigeria.

What stands out about Maduka’s story is that he didn’t just survive; he crushed it at every step, turning his small spare-parts trade into a global business empire. His story teaches us that “When you face your challenges head-on and give it your all, you don’t just succeed—you crush it.”

As people of faith, we are reminded in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Friends, “When you approach life with the mindset that you can overcome anything with God’s strength, you are unstoppable. You have the power to crush every obstacle, break through every barrier, and achieve your God-given potential.”

As I conclude, let me remind you that “Winners don’t wait for opportunities to come their way—they create them.” Whether you’re building your career, working on a personal project, or overcoming a setback, don’t settle for average—crush it! Give it your best, push beyond the limits, and claim the victory that’s waiting for you.
