Daniel Amokachi Daniel Amokachi

Former Nigerian international Daniel Amokachi continues to wait for his first victory as Lobi Stars head coach after his team was held to a 2-2 draw at home by El-Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday, October 16.

This was Amokachi’s second match in charge of the club, following his recent appointment as a replacement for the previous manager. Despite positive signs, his tenure has begun with consecutive draws in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Lobi Stars showed attacking intent early on, taking the lead against El-Kanemi Warriors. However, much like their previous outing, they struggled to maintain control as the visitors fought back to level the score and snatch a point.

Amokachi’s side was once again unable to hold onto their lead, mirroring their performance in the first game under his management — a 1-1 draw away to Niger Tornadoes. Despite the solid start on the road, the back-to-back draws have frustrated both the coach and fans, as they expected a win at home.

While Amokachi’s tactical influence is beginning to show, the inability to close out matches has become a concern. The team’s struggle to maintain leads under pressure will be something the coach must quickly address as he aims to build momentum in the coming fixtures.
