Big Brother Naija star, Leo DaSilva has argued that the statement “Be a man” is used in silencing men, ignoring their happiness and overlook their well-being.
Taking to the micro blogging platform, X, the reality TV star explained that the phrase often forced men to surpress their emotions to conform to societal expectations.
Leo stressed that it is okay for men to also prioritize their mental health and general well being.
He wrote;
“Be a man” is a statement masked in silencing men, ignoring their happiness and a trigger for toxicity.
It’s ok for you as a man to also prioritize your mental health and general well being.
If you are not fine, you cannot effectively take care of anyone.”
