British boxer, Tyson Fury has opened up about a personal tragedy he experienced just before his world title defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, revealing that his wife, Paris Fury, suffered a miscarriage on the eve of the fight.
Despite the heartbreak, Fury insists the loss was not an excuse for his performance and has vowed to reclaim his title.
Fury lost his WBC heavyweight title to Usyk in a closely contested split decision in May 2024.
The British boxer had gone undefeated in 35 professional fights before his defeat to the Ukrainian, who remains unbeaten with 23 victories.

Fury is now set for a rematch on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will attempt to reclaim his crown.
Speaking ahead of the rematch, Fury revealed the emotional toll he was dealing with just days before the fight, as his wife, who was six months pregnant, suffered a miscarriage and was unable to travel to Saudi Arabia.
“The one that she was having, she lost on the Friday of the fight,” Fury said.

“She was six months pregnant. To go through that on your own isn’t good. I couldn’t be there for her, and that’s tough for me.”
Fury said he suspected something was wrong when Paris couldn’t make the trip.
“When she said she couldn’t come over, I knew there was a problem,” he said. “I told my brother,
‘She’s lost that baby.’ She never told me, but I knew. When I got back, I got the inevitable confirmation.”
Despite the setback, Fury is adamant that it did not affect his performance in the ring.
“It’s not an excuse—hell no. I’m a man of honour. I do what I have to do when I’m in there,” he said.
“Nothing outside the ring matters. You think about all that stuff afterwards.”
Looking ahead to the rematch, Fury emphasized the need to remain focused in order to regain his title.
“I have to be a little bit more focused and smart to get the victory,” he stated during a press conference in London on Wednesday.
“My rematches with people, I always end up knocking them out, so I’m envisaging something similar against Usyk.”
The highly anticipated rematch will take place on December 21 in Riyadh, offering Fury a chance at redemption.
