The blast destroyed the gate, doors, and windows of the Aba Road facility.

This incident occurs amidst disputes over local government elections, with the APC and PDP at odds with the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

RSIEC reaffirms its commitment to holding elections as scheduled, citing legal empowerment.

Preparations are underway. Non-sensitive materials have been distributed to over 6,300 polling units and updated 2023 voter registers are available at all 6,366 units.

The APC has not issued an official statement. Concerns persist about election safety and fairness.
