Popular rapper Falz has responded to defamatory remarks made by social media personality VeryDarkman, stating that he was largely unfamiliar with his work before the accusations.

During an interview on the Afrobeats Podcast, Falz admitted, “I don’t know much about his activism, to be honest. Before the first video where he mentioned me and my dad, I hadn’t really seen much of him.”

He went on to explain that the only time he recognized VeryDarkman’s efforts was during his campaign against unregistered skincare vendors in Nigeria, which gained him public attention.

“What I remember seeing a while back was related to people selling bleaching products without NAFDAC numbers. When I saw those clips, I thought, ‘This person seems to be doing something good,’ but aside from that, I haven’t followed his work closely,” Falz added.

This discussion comes amid a legal case involving Falz, his father Femi Falana, and VeryDarkman, following defamatory statements made by the latter.

Falz commented on the accusations, saying, “One day, this person decided to turn on his ring light and make direct statements, accusing me and my dad of conspiring with others to manipulate justice and bribe the EFCC.”

He continued, “He even claimed that I did this because I had a homos.e.x.ual relationship with Bobrisky and that my activism is fake. How would anyone feel? These are terrible things to say without any proof. How can someone just make such baseless accusations?”
