A 58-year-old father of four, Omolayo Bamidele, has reportedly committed su!cide in Igburowo town, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Residents of the community who spoke with TheCable confirmed that Bamidele’s body was found lying on a dusty road in the community at about 10:30 am on Tuesday.
A witness said the bottle of a chemical substance suspected to be “Sniper” was found beside the deceased.
He said the deceased earlier had “a minor argument with a member of his family and threatened to terminate his life”
Odunlami Ibukun, police spokesperson in Ondo, confirmed the incident to the publication.
The PPRO said the police have commenced an investigation into the matter, adding that the command cannot confirm if the deceased committed suicide.
Bamidele’s body has been deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo LGA.
