Croatia-based midfielder Israel Ayuma has expressed confidence that the Flying Eagles will successfully defend their WAFU championship against arch-rivals Ghana tonight.

It will be another Jollof Derby when Nigeria clash again with Ghana in this sub-regional final.

The Flying Eagles outscored Niger 3-1 in the semifinal, while the Black Satellites from Ghana eliminated Cote d’Ivoire 2-1 to set up an epic championship final.

“We hope to retain the trophy,” declared Ayuma, who is one of two overseas-based pros on the Flying Eagles squad to the U20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Togo.

“We are happy we have qualified for the U20 AFCON.

“And now we’re ready for this final.

“We have been working hard and we’re mentally prepared to take the cup back home.”

Former Mavlon FC star Ayuma has played all three matches leading up to this Titanic final tonight.
