Former Sokoto State Governor and presidential candidate, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, has donated N50 million to the Borno State Government to support victims of the Alau Dam flood disaster.

Bafarawa presented the donation on Friday through the Attahiru Bafarawa Foundation, during a sympathy visit to Gov. Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri.

The Foundation Chairman, Malam Lawal Maidoki, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that prayers were offered for those who lost their lives and speedy recovery for the injured.

Maidoki said Bafarawa urged organisations and philanthropists to support the government and people of Borno state.

Describing the incident as destiny, he called for proper mitigation and measures to prevent future occurrences.

Gov. Zulum appreciated the support, praising Bafarawa’s visit as a demonstration of brotherhood, love, and human concern.

Bafarawa recently established a foundation with N1 billion for routine operations, focusing on water supply, education, health, and empowerment.
