Funke Akindele To Release ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ December 13

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, is gearing up for the release of her latest film, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ set to hit cinemas on December 13, 2024.

The movie marks the continuation of her highly popular ‘Jenifa’ franchise, which first launched in 2008.

The film’s release date was revealed in a humorous promotional video shared on Akindele’s Instagram.

In the clip, the cast of her previous movie, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, engaged in a playful tug of war with the cast of the new project to decide which film would debut this year. The victory went to the ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ team.

The movie features a star-studded cast, including Omowumi Dada, Nancy Isime, Falz, Stan Nze, and Jackie Appiah.

The movie builds on the success of Akindele’s ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ TV series, launched in 2015 and known for its humorous portrayal of the naive and funny character Jenifa.

Since its inception, the ‘Jenifa’ series has grown to include sequels and spin-offs like ‘Return of Jenifa’ (2011), ‘Aiyetoro Town’ (2019), and ‘Jenifa on Lockdown’ (2021), and have earned both critical and commercial acclaim.

Production for ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ spanned nine weeks and involved a large crew of 175 people, mainly young creatives from Nigeria and Ghana.

Fans of the screen diva may witness another blockbuster hit from the celebrated filmmaker.
