Halima Abubakar has filed a lawsuit against Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), following her suspension from the guild for allegedly propagating false information
The AGN accused Halima of orchestrating a smear campaign, leveling allegations against fellow actors and industry professionals.
However, Halima claims she’s being targeted.
In a letter from her legal team, P.D. Pius & Associates, Halima condemned Rollas’ statements as “false publications” damaging her reputation.
The letter emphasized that Halima, a respected industry figure battling health issues, was shocked by the allegations.
Halima’s lawyers are demanding that Rollas remove the original Instagram post, issue a public apology, and pay N3 billion ($7.5 million) for reputational damage.
Rollas has seven days to comply or face further legal action.
