SCORENigeria has gathered that highly-rated young coach Paul Offor, who won Sporting Lagos promotion to the NPFL, was seriously considered by Enyimba as an assistant coach.

A top source told SCORENigeria that Enyimba believe they lost the NPFL championship last season due to an inexperienced bench and so it was necessary that young coach Yemi Olanrewaju aka Yema got another capable coach to support him.

In this regard, Offor, it was further gathered, was invited to Aba by Enyimba.

However, the whole arrangement hit a big stumbling block when it was alleged that he was not well received by the coach he was supposed to work with.

“To put it mildly, Offor was not warmly received,” the source revealed.

“It was not a comfortable situation and this more or less ended this arrangement.”

Yema has a year’s contract with ‘The People’s Elephant’, which will be renewed based on performance.
