Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Edo State gubernatorial election, has hinted at favourable results based on early exit polls.

He made the disclosure while speaking to reporters shortly after casting his vote at Ward 1, PU 3 in Ewohimi, Esan South-East Local Government Area.

, Ighodalo expressed confidence in his chances of winning the governorship race.

Ighodalo also voiced concerns about the conduct of the election, accusing agents of the opposing All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to disrupt the voting process.

He alleged that APC operatives were engaging in vote-buying and other efforts to undermine the integrity of the election.

The Edo State election, an off-cycle election in the country, features three key candidates battling for the governorship seat. Aside from Ighodalo of the PDP, there is Senator Monday Okpebholo who is representing the APC, while the Labour Party (LP) has Olumide Akpata in the race. In total, there are 17 candidates officially vying for the position.
