The capital club are reportedly keen on the Napoli player currently out of Antonio Conte's plans.

Lazio are reportedly reigniting their pursuit of Napoli midfielder Michael Folorunsho, preparing an improved offer for the 26-year-old Italy international

Lazio’s Folorunsho interest

Folorunsho was a primary target for the capital club during the summer transfer window, with manager Marco Baroni eager to reunite with his former player from their time together at Reggina and Hellas Verona.

Despite strong interest in the 26-year-old who developed in the Lazio youth academy between 2014 and 2017, a deal failed to materialise in the summer due to disagreements over the transfer fee and structure.

The Biancocelesti preferred a loan deal with an option to buy, while Napoli insisted on an obligation to buy. Lazio's reported initial offer of €10 million fell short of Napoli's valuation.

However, Folorunsho's limited playing time under Antonio Conte in Naples has prompted the Rome-based club to renew their efforts, with the wideman making only one substitute appearance this season.

According to reports, Lazio president Claudio Lotito is now willing to increase their offer to €14 million, signalling a serious intent to secure Folorunsho's services.

Current indication suggests that the Italy international, who had his breakthrough Serie A season last year, is understandably keen to avoid spending the season on the sidelines, pointing to a January transfer for the 26-year-old.

What next for Folorunsho?

The Napoli man’s involvement in the Partenopei’s next Serie A match against Empoli on October 20 is uncertain, following two non-appearances off the bench against Monza and Como before the international break.
