Darwin Nunez’s 27th-minute strike secured the Reds’ third consecutive victory in the competition, maintaining their 100% record. Nunez’s goal, his fourth start under Slot, capped off an energetic display that saw him go close to scoring again before halftime.

Liverpool’s controlled performance was marked by solid goalkeeping from Caoimhin Kelleher, who made crucial saves to deny Benjamin Sesko and Xavi Simons.

RB Leipzig had two goals ruled out for offside, while Liverpool’s penalty claims were waved away after Nunez was clipped by Willi Orban.

The win extends Liverpool’s unbeaten streak to 11 out of 12 games under Slot and leaves them well-placed for upcoming Champions League clashes against Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid.

Liverpool now join Aston Villa with three wins out of three in European football’s top club competition.
