LG Election: Nasarawa APC Adopts Consensus Candidates with Credibility

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Nasarawa State has adopted a consensus format for the choice of its candidates with Credibility for the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the State. 

This according to the party is to enhance internal unity, peace and success of the party at the forthcoming local government elections in the state bild for November 2nd, 2024.

The resolution was reached at an expanded meeting of the party’s stakeholders held at the instance of Governor Abdullahi Sule in Government House Lafia, the state capital.

While appreciating the APC Stakeholders, Governor Abdullahi Sule said their effort at ensuring the success of the party cannot be overemphasised, especially as it goes inline with his commitment to handover to a member of the APC as a successor.

The Governor highlighted his priority of ensuring that Nasarawa State is taken to an enviable heights.

He said that with the date of the local government election fast approaching, the chairmanship aspirants should be committed towards the growth of internal democracy.

He said criteria such as prudence, experience, foresight and competence will be considered as major factors for the choice of candidates to ensure that the right people are chosen.

Speaking, the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau believes that the upcoming election remains a task that must be accomplished.

He called on stakeholders of the APC in the State to abide by the provisions of the party against their personal interests.

Speaker Jatau harped on peace, unity and success of the party in November local government election and beyond 2027.

Also speaking, the immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu said the measures adopted by the party remained a unanimous position that was not unconnected with success of the party in future elections.

He charged ward leaders and other stakeholders to leave up to expectation.

From the Minister of the State for Police Affairs, Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, the National Legal Adviser of the of APC, Professor Abdulkarim Kana to the National President of ALGON, Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, even as the position of the party is calculated at making the party stronger, aspirants in the forthcoming local government elections must respect the position of the stakeholders.

The APC stakeholders meeting also resolved that Female aspirants and persons with disabilities are to pay Fifty percent, while all aspirants going into the consensus must ensure they have purchased the nomination forms.
