Lukaku tagged Serie A ‘best’ by former Napoli star

Former Napoli striker Emanuele Calaiò has praised Romelu Lukaku, calling him the best striker in Serie A.

Calaiò made the comment, despite feeling that the Belgian forward is still only at 50% of his potential.

In an interview with Tuttosport, Calaiò discussed Lukaku’s impact since joining Napoli from Chelsea, where he has already tallied three goals and four assists in just five appearances this season.

“We haven’t seen the real Lukaku yet,” Calaiò remarked, noting that the striker has been relying more on his experience and physicality to contribute to Napoli’s attack.

However, he expects that once Lukaku reaches his peak condition, fans will witness more of the clinical performances that marked his time at Inter.

Calaiò also pointed at Lukaku’s consistency, stating, “Whether he’s playing well or badly, Lukaku always manages to score 20 goals a season.”
