Management staff of the Ministry of Steel Development showered encomiums on the outgoing Minister of State for Steel Development, Uba Maigari who departed the ministry recently.

At a farewell ceremony organised by the mnistry, Ahmadu, who has been appointed Minister of State for Regional Development, acknowledged that his achievements in the Ministry of Steel Development were as a result of collective effort. Reflecting on the initiatives he spearheaded, such as the ongoing registration for the bootcamp training programme for Nigerian youths, Maigari highlighted the potential of the steel and metals sector to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s economic growth.

During his speech, Ahmadu expressed gratitude to the ministry’s management and staff for their unwavering support during his 14-month tenure. In his remarks, the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Abubakar Audu praised Ahmadu for their cooperative working relationship, describing it as a “big brother” partnership that allowed him to benefit from Ahmadu’s vast public service experience.

A statement by the head of the ministry’s information and public relations department, Tine-Iulun M.A commended Ahmadu’s calm, gentle and wise demeanour.

Additionally, the permanent secretary, Dr. Chris Osa Isokpunwu assured that the ministry would continue to support the bootcamp initiative, ensuring its objectives are achieved and he wished Maigari success in his new role.
