Man United vs Chelsea: Enzo Maresca warns of tough test at Old Trafford - 'That stadium is difficult'

Manchester United who recently sacked coach Erik ten Hag will host Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has acknowledged the formidable challenge that awaits his side as they prepare to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Maresca expressed his well wishes to interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.

"First of all, all the best to him. If the people in charge took that decision it is because they think it’s the correct one. All the best to him and all the best to Manchester United," he told the club's official website.

Maresca highlighted the difficulties of playing at Old Trafford, sighting records of previous encounters at the stadium.

He emphasised the importance of a strong performance to secure a good result.

"We haven’t won there since 2013? Hopefully, it is a good time. That shows how difficult that stadium is; not only for us but for every club," he concluded.

Enzo Maresca joined Chelsea on June 3, 2024, after replacing Mauricio Pochettino.

He has been in charge of Chelsea for nine games in the Premier League and won five, lost two and drawn two times.

Maresca's team has scored 19 goals and conceded 11 times. So far at Chelsea, he has also won the Premier League Manager of the Month award for September 2024.
