Chelsea's Italian tactician, Enzo Maresca, has been named the Premier league manager of the month for September 2024, after guiding his team to an impressive run of victories.

Enzo Maresca was nominated for the first time after an impressive month with Chelsea. After starting September with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, the Blues kept successive clean sheets on the road as they beat Bournemouth 1-0 and West Ham United 3-0. Maresca then earned his first Premier league win at Stamford Bridge with a stunning 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Chelsea were one of the high-scoring teams in the Premier League in September having scored nine goals. This impressive form saw the Blues finish the month in the top four teams on the league table under Enzo Maresca.

The tactics of the former Leicester City's manager innovative tactics and player positioning have unlocked the potential of Chelsea's squad, particularly Cole Palmer, who won the Premier player of the month award. This manager of the month award is a well-deserved recognition of Maresca's exceptional leadership and Chelsea's resurgence under his guidance this season (2024/25).

The 44-year-old came out top in a five-man shortlist that included Mikel Arteta, Unai Emery, Marco Silva and Arne Slot, claiming the award after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts. Maresca becomes the first Chelsea head coach to win the award since Thomas Tuchel, who claimed it in October 2021.
