Gbenga Ogunbote, the head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, has expressed concern over the team’s current struggle with converting chances into goals.

Following a goalless draw against Enyimba FC at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday, Ogunbote lamented the side’s inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities despite a dominant performance.

“This is a big challenge for us,” said Ogunbote, who is affectionately called “The Oracle.” Our inability to take risks has contributed to this, if we had taken enough risk in this game, we would have been able to get something, but it’s a continuous thing, we will continue to train them , to make them understand our philosophy”, he added.

The 3SC Technical Adviser emphasized that while the team is showing improvement and creating chances, the process of refining their synergy and finishing will take time. He remains optimistic about the team’s progress as the season continues.

“I’m happy that the synergy is coming in, we were able to show some understanding, we were able to create some chances. All these was as a result of a process, it did not just happen in a day”, He said.

Ogunbote also made an appeal to the club’s fans for patience and understanding, promising that the team will continue to work hard and improve over time. “We will get there in no distant time,” the former Enyimba FC coach assured.

Despite the frustrating result, Ogunbote highlighted positive signs of progress within the team, and he believes that better results will come as the players continue to grasp his philosophy.
