Bendel Insurance Football Club coach Monday Odigie has asked for more support after Bendel Insurance secured 1-0 victory over Shooting Stars on Wednesday, October 2,2024 at the Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City Edo State, Sports247 reports.

The Benin Arsenals relied on a stoppage time winner from the boot of Micheal Enaruna, to dim Shooting Stars of Ibadan in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL rescheduled Matchday 3 match.

The goal sent the fans into wild jubilation in the second minute of the five minutes injury time who stood singing and hoping a for goal and their patience paid off with Enaruna’s 22 yard strike which scored Bendel Insurance’s first win of the season.

A delightful Monday Odigie, the coach of the team thanked the supporters for their faith and patience, all through the duration of the “tough ” game before Enaruna finally found the redemption goal.

“We need more support. Insurance vs Shooting Stars game is always difficult and this is not different.” Coach Odigie said.

He said that the first victory will no doubt lift the spirit of the boys and also raise their confidence ahead of the next home match against Elkanemi Warriors.

“It is a good result in a difficult league like ours. Of course it will boost the confidence of players.

Our team is still growing, looking at where we are coming from.” Odigie told the press after the hard fought encounter.

Bendel Insurance FC now has five points from the four games this season and will host Elkanemi Warriors on match day five,scheduled for this weekend.
