NPFL: Ikorodu City FC Piles More Misery On ‘Winless’ Amokachi 

Ikorodu City FC defeated Lobi Stars FC 4-2 in the match day 8 of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, played in Lagos on to pile more misery on coach Daniel Amokachi, Sports247 reports.

The Oga Boys romped to the back to back victories at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos scoring seven goals in the matches, which has transformed their fortunes in the league as they crawled out of the bottom of the log for this time this season .

In fact, Ikorodu City FC are yet to lose any game in the last three matches, winning a total of 7 points out of the possible nine since there is a change of order on the technical bench.

In contrasting fortunes, Lobi Stars have gone winless in their last three matches, since Daniel Amokachi took over from the former coach, Eugene Agagbe.

The Alia Boys have conceded 7 goals, scored five and managed only 2 points out of possible nine which left the team rock bottom of the log.

More miseries for the former Super Eagles attacker who led is team to Lagos looking for his first win as the coach of the team but left with nothing as Ikorodu City scored two goals in each half to take the game beyond Lobi Stars FC.

Two quick first half goals from Salau Yusuf and Emmanuel Solomon swung the game in favour of Ikorodu City FC to go 2-0 early in the game.

However momentary loss of concentration from the host allowed Lobi Stars to even the scores late in the first half to end the half 2-2 through a brace from Assurance Ifeanyi.

Ikorodu City rallied back in the second half and two more goals as Alade Solomon and Rivo Ayemwenre found the back of the back for the host to make it second Consecutive Victories in Lagos and Left coach Daniel Amokachi still searching for his first victory since he took over the technical bench Lobi Stars FC.

The result lifted Ikorodu City from the bottom of the log to the 17th, their highest ever since in the league while Lobi Stars replaced the Oga Boys at the bottom spot.
