NSCDC foils robbery in Osun, recover stolen vehicle

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command has foiled a robbery attack and recovered a vehicle from fleeing robbers at Onibu-Eja community, along Iwo-Ibadan road.

The NSCDC boss in the state, Michael Adaralewa, disclosed this in a statement issued by the public relations officer of the Corps, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

According to him, on Saturday, 12th October, 2024, at about 3:25 am, a four-man gang of armed robbers invaded a house in Onibu-eja community, Osun State, where a vehicle was stolen at gunpoint from a family.

“Immediately the gang left, members of the community put a distress call to NSCDC, Osun State Command for assistance,” the statement read.

“The officers of the command on patrol swung into action and engaged the suspects in a gun duel. Faced with superior firepower the suspects fled leaving the stolen vehicle behind

“The stolen Toyota Corolla recovered has the chasis number; 1NXBU40E49Z005008 and is currently at Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) Osun State. Discreet investigation has commenced to arrest the suspects and make them face the full wrath of the law."

Adaralewa commended the swift response of the officers and their bravery in foiling this armed robbery attack

He also lauded members of the public for giving timely information to the command.

He assured that NSCDC would continue to justify the trust reposed in it by members of the public.

The NSCDC boss in the state also used the opportunity to send warnings to criminally minded people in the state to have a change of mind or ready to face the full wrath of the law.
