Music stars Beyoncé and Jay-Z received a public apology from Piers Morgan after unsubstantiated allegations about the power couple were aired on his program.
During an episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, Morgan hosted singer Jaguar Wright, who made shocking and unfounded claims about Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Wright accused Beyoncé and Jay-Z of being a “nasty couple” who allegedly engage in harmful behavior, such as “keeping people against their will” and putting “people on planes while they’re unconscious.” She even compared the duo to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, but offered no evidence to support her allegations.
After the broadcast, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s legal team contacted Morgan, asserting that Wright’s remarks were “totally false.” In response, Morgan issued a rare public apology to Beyoncé and Jay-Z on his show.
“Last week, I interviewed Jaguar Wright, who’s made claims about Diddy for years,” Morgan explained. “Jaguar unexpectedly made several serious allegations about Beyoncé and Jay-Z during that interview, and they were not present to respond.”
Following the couple’s legal intervention, Morgan complied with the request to cut the offending sections from the interview.
“Editing interviews is not something we do lightly on a show called Uncensored,” Morgan said. “But there are legal limits, and we apologize to Beyoncé and Jay-Z.”
