Ademola Lookman will reportedly try to leave Atalanta in the winter transfer window.

Super Eagles ace Ademola Lookman unsuccessfully pushed for an exit from Atalanta last summer. According to a recent report, he is still determined to leave and will make another attempt in the January transfer window.

Lookman's failed exit

The 26-year-old, who has been a journeyman throughout his career, ended last season on a high, scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final, which earned him a Ballon d'Or nomination.

It also put him on the radar of a number of top clubs. One such club was Paris Saint Germain, and as Pulse Sports reported, the French champions managed to reach an agreement on personal terms with the Nigeria international.

However, they could not agree on a free with Atalanta, as the La Dea leadership were not interested in losing their priced possession except a significant financial offer was proposed

Lookman to initiate move again

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Lookman will try to leave Atalanta in the January transfer window. According to the report, the move is feasible, and Atalanta will let him go should their valuation of €25-30 million be met.

Meanwhile, Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini heaped high praise on the Nigerian winger, suggesting he could achieve the same heights as legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by winning the Ballon d’Or award this year.
