Rapper T.I. Confirms Retirement, Plans One Last Show Before Bowing Out

Legendary American rapper T.I has officially announced his retirement from performing live after one final show, marking the end of his iconic hip-hop career.

In an interview with Atlanta’s 96.1 The Beat, hosted by Ferrari Simmons and BT, the “Dead and Gone” star revealed that his upcoming performance at the station’s Jingle Ball festival will serve as his farewell to live performances. The rapper T.I is set to headline the December 19 show in Atlanta, sharing the stage with artists like Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, The Kid Laroi, Khalid, and Tinashe. During the interview, rapper T.I humorously remarked:

“I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore, and I will not be performing.” He added, “I don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore.”

Young Dro, a fellow rapper signed to T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records, chimed in with a joke about taking on all the shows T.I decides to turn down. “I will be picking up all of Tip’s shows that he ain’t going to. Doing them all,” Young Dro said, prompting laughter from everyone in the room. When Ferrari Simmons asked T.I if he had plans for future shows, he responded, “Of course, I’m going to answer the phone to tell them that I will not be performing.”

While rapper T.I is preparing to retire from live performances, he hinted that he might still perform again in the future, but only on his own terms. As of now, his final show is scheduled for December 19 at the 93.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball in Atlanta, which will feature a star-studded lineup including Tinashe, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, Khalid, and The Kid LAROI.

In 2023, rapper T.I announced his decision to hang up his microphone for good following the release of his 12th and final double album, which is still in the works. “It’s time to evolve beyond my career as a rapper,” he shared on the We In Miami Podcast. The album, a double project, will be titled Kill The King and Kiss The King.
