Nigerian musician Jaywon has paid his respects to late music icon Sound Sultan by visiting his gravesite in New Jersey, US
Sound Sultan passed away in 2021 after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.
Jaywon shared photos from the visit, captioning them: “At the resting place of a mentor where wisdom, guidance and inspiration now lay in eternal peace. Gone, but forever a part of us. #soundsultan”
The photos garnered mixed reactions from netizens.
Some criticized Jaywon for sharing the images, calling it “bad publicity” and “turning burial grounds into motion grounds.”
Others defended his actions, saying it was a heartfelt tribute to his mentor.

Sound Sultan’s family had previously announced his passing, revealing his battle with AITL, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
