The end appears near for one of Nigeria’s most wanted bandit kingpin, Bello Turji as his current location has been known.

Recall that Turji, who has been terrorising the people of North West region, was declared wanted in November 2022 by the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) with a bounty of N5m on his head.

The DHQ again declared him wanted in March 2024.

Recently, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, assured Nigerians that “time is ticking” against the wanted bandit, adding that troops will soon arrest him.

Similarly, the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, assured that the bandit would soon be killed.

According to a reputable counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama, the wanted Bello Turji and his fighters have left their hideouts near Tsafe and have now crossed into Munhaye in Zamfara State.

Attached with a photo of the bandit, Zagazola wrote on his X handle, “Bello and his fighters have left their hideouts near Tsafe and crossed over to Munhaye in Zamfara state, Zagazola can confirm.”

Zagazola, reputed for receiving credible security news on the military offensive in the region, was the first person who broke the news of the killing of notorious bandit commander Kachallah Buzu, who was killed by Nigerian Troops.
