Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf has expressed his team’s determination to secure maximum points in their upcoming double-header against Libya in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.

The first leg of the encounter between the Super Eagles and Libya will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 11. The second leg of the tie will be hosted in Benina four days later.

Ahead of the first leg of the tie in Uyo, Alhassan Yusuf emphasized the Super Eagles’ target of securing all six points from the two matches, as this would effectively secure their spot in the 2025 AFCON in January.

The fast-rising midfielder, who currently plays for the New England Revolution in the Major League Soccer, exuded confidence ahead of the crucial fixtures.

He said, “We’re going for the six points (vs Libya); that’s the least target because with those points, we’re already at the AFCON.”

Note that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are going into the game as Group D table toppers with four points in two games. As for Libya, they are currently sitting at the bottom of the group with one point in four games.
