Cities can be a marvel to behold from the sky, with their sprawling landscapes, towering skyscrapers, and intricate networks of streets and highways. This attractive ambience has been captured in a new report ranking cities across the word according to their unique urban landscape.
From above, cities appear as a beautiful mosaic of colors, shapes, and textures. The neatly arranged buildings, parks, and streets create a sense of order and harmony.
The beautiful and captivating sights of several cities across the world have been captured in a new report by Remitly which revealed the top cities with the most eye-catching impression from the air.
Vice President of Marketing for EMEA and APAC at Remitly, Ryan Riley while commenting on the report said “Your first view of the city you’re visiting or moving to can set the tone for your new adventure. It’s just one of many first impressions, coupled with the greeting you get from staff at the airport to the first coffee you buy, you start to build up an image of a destination pretty quickly before you’ve even put your bags down."
The report which ranked over 30 cities globally showed that African cities, Ghana and Lagos made the top ten global list, ranking in 2nd and 6th place respectively.
Using the latest eye-tracking technology, Remitly conducted the global study by showing 200 participants from around the world series of images of different destinations captured from the air.
The total time people spent looking at different destinations was recorded and then used to rank the destinations to reveal the most ‘eye-catching’ and give people the best ‘first impression’. The maximum fixation time for each image would be 16 minutes and 40 seconds.

The stunning capital of the Czech Republic, Prague took the top spot in air appeal, catching viewers' attention for an impressive 14 minutes and 8 seconds. This charming European city is a visual feast, with its breathtaking architecture, including the iconic Charles Bridge and vibrant terracotta roof tiles that create a striking landscape from above.
Accra, Ghana's vibrant capital came in second position. The city held viewers' attention for an impressive 11 minutes. As visitors fly in, they're treated to breathtaking views of Kokrobite and Laboma Beach, stretching along the Atlantic coast..
Lagos came in 6th position holding viewers' attention for 9 mins 12 seconds with its vibrant and stunning skyline, and particularly, the coastline which is particularly beautiful when viewed from the sky. The city boasts a mix of modern high-rises, waterfront views, and rich cultural landscapes.
